AOE-II Arabia Invitational Hosted by Mario Ovalle (english translation)

Hey everyone! i am pleased to announce the Arabia Invitational tournament hosted by Mario Ovalle, an all Arabia event featuring TheViper, Mr yo, Hera, TaToH, Liereyy, MBL, Daut and TheMax, to be held on August 7th, 8th and 9th.


Settings:

Day 1 - Quarter finals (7th August) All rounds best of 5.

Day 2 - Quarter Finals (8th August) All rounds best of 5.

Day 3 - 9th August Semi Finals All rounds best of 5.

Finals (on the same day) Best of 7.


Civ Selection will be though a draft for each match in each round. Each player will select 7 civilizations from the 35 civs pool. In the following format: A, BB, AA, BB, AA, BB, AA, B. Afterwards, each player will ban 2 civs from the 7 civs selected by the opponent.

Maps: the map for each round will be ARABIA.

Restarts: There can only be a restart in the case of a bugged map, allowed before 4 minutes where resources have less than 3 tiles accessible.

Streaming policy: the event will be open streaming/ casting as long as the banner of the event is shown.(edited)

Prize pool is 2000 USD to be divided in the following way:

1st place 1000 usd
2nd place 500 usd
3rd place 250 usd
4th place 250 usd

Sounds nice, sadly its totally overshadowed by the Red Bull Qualifiers and Casters and Viewers might concentrate on that. I also hope that TheMax can participate in both. Will definitely tune in

Dont worry its a tournament made by hispanic community. They are big on youtube so it doesnt really matter if they dont get big twitch streamers attention. They will probably get 15k people in guessing.

So it wont be overshadowed

Still, if not for the RBW qualifiers I guess some medium streamers would try to catch the games anyhow :D

 

Personally, I think we'll get good streaming numbers for both the RB qualifiers and this tourney. If anything, the more reliable figures should be players' POV here with the quality of players involved and the first round match-ups look great!

I generally don't like randomized brackets but with these 8 players on arabia I doubt there'd ever be a clear consensus on the seeding anyway

 

No qualifiers or anything for other players? I just came back to AoE 4 months ago and Im seeing same top players invited over and over again. We need qualifiers for new players at least (old in my case)

Prob this get more viewers than the RB Qualifiers so it might be the other way around. It's a pity sometimes the tournaments overlap in few days and then we have weeks without anything

Yeah, that probably, if we count the huge Spanish Community, and the POVs of the participating pros, but I just wished we can all focus on the Invitational and dont need to decide.

Capoch, creo que es dificil que veas gente nueva en el top 10-20 del age, como vos sabes, es un juego muy grande, con muchas variables, de infinitas combinaciones. Aprenderlo lleva minimo 1 año, siendo muy bueno. Si no tenes base como vos, riut, jordan, yo creo que mas todavia. Asi que por un tiempo no creo ver gente nueva. Esperemos que se sume mas gente y se amplie la base de expertos

I wish TheMax would sign up for RBW qualifier 2 as he can't play in the first qualifier because of this tournament.

 

Nice games today, really like the maps, civ choices and games that resulted in them. Had oldschool vibes and I loved it :D Cant wait to see more next days.
