AoE II DE Infosheet: Jineapple’s Work Updated

I think most of us remember AoC / HD / WK Infosheet created by Jineapple. Personally, I used to refer to it quite a lot back in the day – partly because of its neat design, partly because I didn’t know Advanced Genie Editor (AGE) existed and is quite a handy tool to use. I have delved into AoE II mechanics and stats recently and, using AGE and Scenario Editor, decided to update this masterpiece for DE, given the source tables and docs of the original Infosheet are openly available and the author’s permission has been granted.

Note, btw, that Improved Extended Tooltip mod (created alongside with the original Infosheet back in the HD days) has already been updated for DE by harooooo.

Infosheet as a whole (PDF + additional info) is published as a Steam guide. PDF part of the Infosheet is available as an attachment to this thread and in a Google Drive folder, alongside with source Google Doc formatting I use to generate the PDF with. Several gameplay mechanics (hidden effects, some damage calculations, monk mechanics etc.) are described in ‘Auxiliary Info’ sections in a Steam guide contents.

On a screenshot below, an example entry from the Infosheet (Unit Chart) is presented (Update 51737 screenshot):

In addition to updating Infosheet to the current DE state (last updated to Update 56005 / Dawn of the Dukes DLC, November 18, 2021), I also made a few design changes:

• Rates and times are mentioned together where possible (Civ and Tech Sheets) to avoid confusion;
• Added my own speculations about several ‘technical’ details – both in auxiliary info and the Unit Chart;
• Updated Legend for Unit Chart adding more variables;
• Auxiliary info about game mechanics was updated. Unmodified lines from the original guide are put into “quotes”;
• Extracted gather rates to a separate chart. Aside for farming and trade rates, they are all theoretical / coded values;
• Several useful articles/posts/videos were added as ‘further reading’ material in ‘External Links’ section of Steam guide.

Styling/formatting is where I could lag behind the original Infosheet. Some charts (especially Tech Chart) can be pixilated badly as they simply can’t fit into A4 format (too many civs, too many units these days). Empty space may also look repelling – I decided to keep charts separated from each other at such a cost. Most of the PDF file should be ‘Ctrl+F-able.’

I've updated it to Update 47820 (03/04 May). Hopefully I haven't missed anything.

Hey. Yeah, I think it would be great to update the github page (as a branch maybe?) – after all, I've downloaded the original tables from there. I am not sure though if the tables downloaded in the .ods format will not get their formatting butchered as they originate from the Google Docs.

I see it includes Update 51737 but does not include the DLC stuff (moving and adjusting rows is a nightmare to come once again for me…). Also, no Blast Furnace for Lithuanians and change in Sicilian team bonus are missing.

I am also thinking about slightly editing the legend for the unit sheet part and (finally) examining the impact of the change in farming mechanics in detail (text in the Steam guide, farming rates were updated in the sheet).

I've finally updated the Infosheet for Dawn of the Dukes DLC / Update 51737 state of DE. Along with the update / DLC changes, I also:

1. Corrected several mistakes in the Unit and Tech charts (e.g., Steppe Lancers had no HP stated, several civs had sevral techs incorrectly available to them);
2. Re-colorized tech availability in Tech chart in repetitive colors;
3. Updated the screenshots in the Steam guide and the Steam guide info.

The only thing left for future is the impact of the farming change in the Update 50292 (villagers farm in the center of the farm, not the bottom-left corner) – if it is of any significance in the first place.
