Hello,
As I am sure you know, nearly 10% of males are colorblind and struggle to see the differences between some colors. Most common colorblindness include Protanopia and Deuteranopia (lack one type of cones), or similar-named anomalies resulting in a mutant type of cones. Also in video games, it can be a disconfort:
no one wants to get a mangonel shot in your xbow army from an ally because he confounded red and green.
Hence I would like to introduce my idea to make a colorblind mod, to trick the current palette a little to make them more receptive and suit more to current forms of colorblindness:
NORMAL/COLORBLIND (x2)
Problem is I struggle a lot with Editing that using the AoC tools, even with inspiring with the files of curent colour mods. The code is archaic and the figures AoC are mysterious, I don't know how to convert these new colours from photoshop/paint.net, etc. to aoc values, even having the exact RGB/HSL/hex codes for my colours! Values AoC use are just too mysterious.
I know of course AoC uses 256 colours and the result won't be 100% accurate, but even so these values:
"Palette = X
Color = Y
MinimapColor = Z (most of the times, Z = Y so let's ignore it)"
you can found in editors and .ini files are so archaic I didn't find any strong enough logic to try converting my colours and put them into aoc.
If I had to skim through 255 values for each X, Y and try to find by eye sight which colour fits the most I'd be 50 when the mod would be released. What I want is by knowing my colour I can find a logic that can lead me to precise values of X, Y.
Yeah, it's technical and ugly, that's why I would need GRAPHICAL MASTERS OF AOC here helping me to bring into life this project of making AoC colorblind-friendly.
