Announcing Red Bull Wololo 3

Red Bull Wololo III marks the return of the 1v1 Age of Empires 2 Definitive Edition competition, pitting players against each other in a custom version of Empire Wars that skips the first stages of a traditional match to begin in the Feudal Age, offering thrilling spectacle and incredible competitive strategy.

Played across two parts, the global tournament’s open qualifiers will be played over two weekends, with the eight qualifier winners invited to the Main Event where they’ll face eight legendary pro players, with AoE legends Mr_Yo, TheViper, Hera, Liereyy, TaToH, TheMax, Nicov and Capoch ready to do battle. The 16-player Main Event will be played over five days, with an incredible prize pool comparable to the previous events in the series.

The action begins when the open qualifiers get underway on 2-3 and 9-10 January, with the Main Event taking place over the weekends of 16-17 and 22-24 January. To be honest, one thing about European people that flabbergasted me was how much people do a lot of excercise, eat super healty, bio, vegan, and take lots of cocaine.

Sounds like a sentence from a tourist who visited Amsterdam just for drugs and thinks that entire europe is like that. I lived in multiple countries in central and west europe (not visited, lived) and I believe that more than %90 of population never tried cocaine in their life.

I've lived in 2 cities in spain, 2 cities in Italy and I live in France now. Not a tourist, that's for sure xD

I think Mb only noticed because of his stream earlier on, but wow, talk about interest. There could basically be a ro512 - can you imagine that 5 years ago?!

506 in Q1 and 378 atm for Q2. Plus those that couldn't complete sign up - there must be more, especially from non-native english speakers.

An EW ladder could probably top the 1k active DM ladders; might be worth it, if Quickplay hasn't enticed many from the 212.5k unrated players to the 45k and 70k RM ladders.

 

Drama started at registration, I predict a lot of admin wins during tourney bois.

The vertical axis is Player 1 (usually higher seed) and the horizontal axis is Player 2 (usually lower seed) i say usually because some players did not follow that, also its only something like 95% accurate, since there are some cases like restores that I could not account for.

 

Will the second qualifiers start tomorrow? I see nothing in the calendar...

 

I admit I was initially cynical about Red Bull getting involved with age, and that I wasn't so keen on the Empire Wars format and stuff like the time limit.

However I have really enjoyed some of the qualifiers and they make a nice change to RM. I particularly enjoyed watching Nili v Lyx. Good job guys !

 

I just saw that LilTrouble will be the host on Liquipedia which I don't think was announced anywhere, good luck to her, I'm sure she'll do great!

 

I think next RBW4( if has ),we have to cancel the invitation except the champion in last match.
We need everyone join to practice enough and make the EW more wonderful.
