There's been a lot of people asking, thus I feel it's necessary for me to clear the confusion.
WWP, stands for White Wolf Palace (白狼宫)
It's a Chinese clan/community based on a Steam Group (They use the steam group for hosting games and voicechatting), sponsored by a super rich Singaporean Chinese guy named Martin (https://aoe2.net/#profile-333475)
Earlier this year, Tim was invited to Singapore by this guy, living together and playing age till today (often in ranked TG as a stacked team along with another old Chinese player, IamOK, who's living in SEA region, probably Singapore too), Tim was in the WWP Clan since then.
Recently, they announced that they will be hosting a tournament with a 100k USD prizepool, named "WWP Insiders Training Tournament" (白狼宫队内训练赛).
The format that the sponsor wants is: one invited known (Edit: either international or Chinese) pro player + a few 1k9 - 2k Chinese players + one low level player forms a 4 player team. The sponsor and a few of his friends are the low level players here. Those mid/high level Chinese players are from the Chinese aoe2 community who the sponsor got to know by playing age this year.
The tournament is still in a planning phase from what I've heard. But all these info are available among the Chinese community (Tim posted them himself) so there's not any spoiling tbh.
Personally, I'm not a fan of this tournament, as it's not really competitive because of the skill difference is there. And I saw Tim randomly posted/messaged his draft rules (in Chinese) to English speaking players without even translating, the lack of organization makes the tournament look even more casual/personal to me.
Some extra stories about what the WWP players having been doing recently: The players in the WWP steam group have been playing a lot of money TGs sponsored by Martin, started from last week or so. I saw some "pro carry the sponsor" games, some random setting games (like 1v1v1), and some actual decent/balanced TGs too, all the settings are by the will of the sponsor. The winning team would get like 400 USD for one game per player, and the sponsor donates a few hundreds USD worth of gifts (on douyu) daily, to whoever streams aoe2.
