And, such a dramatic and nonsense statement after fixing 3 minor crashes... When are you gonna fix queue dodging and Elo inflation? Is your anxiety causing you to somehow not release the fixes for these long standing issues?

Inflation is already fixed, average / median elo wont indefinitely rise without injecting new players. Individuals getting high elo by gaming the system with smurfs is another story.


EDIT: Also a lot of those sub-50 winrate players who gained "undeserved elo" by just playing ton of games have already got sent back to the range they actually belong to.

If you downloaded the game from the microsoft store, there is no way get the update. Without the patch, it only allows you to match with other microsoft store players (different versions of game error).
The only fix is to completely uninstall the game and re-install it.

Remember that testing small patches before release requires developer resources and a struggling company like Microsoft just can't afford to spare those if you don't preorder their third DLC, Power of the Princes, which lets you play as the mighty Austrians and conquer all of Europe with your unique technology Habsburg Matrimony!

I mean it was obvious not to release any balance change or some serious change with the redbull happening in few days, but given that they only touched things for the browser and languages, cause of the reports of the weekend when big streamers complained that they couldn't find the games.

But seriously they could have reseted the tg ladder and banned jibatong or lyx and all the traders at least or some notes of their so called fix with the dodging but whatever, honestly you guys will be very disappointing when it finally comes.

My hope for the DE from now is for some skilled guys to make a patch to play it outside microsoft's control and before they completely make the game a clown fest with 3 more dlcs.

-1v1 and TG elo having different "scales" isnt a problem, ladders are never meant to be compared with one another. They are fine as long as players are somewhat ranked according to their skill levels.
-Those overrated players with sub-50 win rate back then have already lost their elo over time after the fix.
-The median elo have stopped rising after the fix, and with more and more new players (aka 1000 elo) joining, the median elo will gradually go down.
-A ladder reset without changing the "placement match mechanic" (Like k-factor and such), would take tens, if not hundreds, of games for each player to get accurately ranked again. (Yes its been done before in Voobly days, but that doesnt necessarily mean its a good idea.)
-There will never be a perfect fix for the "smurfing" "game the system" issue anyway.

The reset is necessary and the impact of it can be reduced just by porting when available the 1x1 ranks into the tg ladder to start with instead of 0 rank, the inflation has decreased at some levels, but its still there and the current ranks reflects nothing but previous activity.

Stackers will be always a thing, but they can prevent inflation caused by stacking hard and smurfing, the 1x1 ladder has a limiter, the higher you get the less points you earn and trade even less vs the same elo players(that is why the 1x1 ladder has got stuck, hera was winning 3-4 points vs 2500 players lol just being 2580, that limiter starts from 2200 ranks), i don't know who is in charge but that limiter should have been implemented on the tg ladder at day 1, so the discrepancy wouldn't be that high btw 1x1 and tg.

So as you can see they don't need to write something new, they can use what they already have on hands.

the problem is it uses your ranking in other ladders for placement, but that's the only reason it matters so for anyone already ranked it isnt an issue

The problems with TG Elo is that you need to play about 200 games to be accurately rated if you are anywhere close to good at the game. A reset would be great for fixing this but would also force everyone to play 20+ games to be rated reasonably.

I think just resetting to 1v1 rating and going from there is the best solution. (Or you could come up with a complicated mathematical formal that combines 1v1 and tg Elo and then divides them by x)

An alternative solution is to just give/lose 5 times more points for a win/loss up until you reach 50 games played or something like that.

1k 1v1 players are roughly distributed between 1.4 to 2.1 k TG. 1.3k 1v1 player is distributed between 1.8 to 2.7 k TG. You are delusional if you think TG ratings are fair or ranked according to skill with little overlap. If I (1.4k 1v1) solo queue for TG I get matched with ~1.7k 1v1 player.

Nope, they just stopped gaining more elo but their wr is not affected because the elo wasn't reset and the new formula causes new problems without going solving the existing ones.

One great thing about old system was variable distribution of elo within a team. This feature should have been discarded. Total elo gain/loss should be same but distribute the elo bad on player rating. Add in virtual elo boost for pre-made teams and you get a solution for number of issues including smurfs.

So, you are admitting that the new elo formula did nothing to reverse the elo gain.

Disable family sharing for ranked, see above points.

The most frustrating thing is all these explanations have been repeated multiple times but certain people just don't want to understand the problem.
