You need special strat, I played this map a lot with some top players, and even completely outcives you will win if you play a good strat. That being said, its a pretty simple map, took me 2 weeks to get 19+ 11.
I'm surprised to see the teams are from the same clan more or less, I thought the teams would be completely random...
The map itself is very straight forward and simple to understand, so the learning curve is minimal.
That's one of the greatest things about it though, as it allows for a lot of GGs. Map knowledge doesn't play a role in the skill of the player, where as a LOT of other CS maps depend HUGELY on map knowledge, and are thus a big part of the 'skill'.
Instead of having to study something for a long time, here you just jump on in and let you natural reactions take control. It's a far more instinctive and dynamic map because of that.
A map of pure micro and macro -- nothing more.
Team games, in order of importance I'd say it breaks down like this:
1. Teamwork - 55%
2. Positions - 35%
3. Civs - 10%
I haven't watched this set, but I would highly recommend you also (anyone that's interested) check out the semi final between the teams Phurrious and dv8.
