Well, every attempt to do FC fires in Balance of Power ultimately failed from what I remember, and galleys are so terribly boring that about 50 people have signed up for the tournament in just 4 days :P

Maybe we didn't have enough games for someone to establish a clear strategy, or maybe they didn't give enough power to fire ships and demolition ships in balance patch. But having 6 water military units in the game and seeing 95% of the time the same unit => something is definitely wrong. And this is not the only problem water have, water economy is broken too. You rarely see someone making trade on the water, or upgrading fishing ships in castle.
If land units where so unbalanced like water units, I would probably not play this game.
I would love to see turtle ships, longboats, demolition ships in the fights. Water balance need serious rework and testing with top players to increase the numbers of units and civilization (=number of strategies) used for water battles.
Please no changes to water, grushing is a lot of fun how it is now. The water meta is completely boring in the HD expansions.
If you don't like to watch it, don't watch it. I can understand why you dislike watching it, especially when you have no understanding about the different strategies and approach people take adaptations with build order while trying to micro galleys.
