AOE-II 40 goth champs vs. 28 japanese

To avoid distraction. This test was made, cause i wanted to test if a post in another topic (viewtopic.php?f=68&p=342045), was correct. It has no reference to cost-efficienty.

Me and a friend made a test, with 40 goth champs vs. 28 japanese. We played 4 games and switched civs.
No micro, simply patrol into enemy.

if you make the simpliest test and reduce it to x=1:
28 v 40 | :4
7 japanese v 10 goth

cause anythign else is just 7*x japanese versus 10x goth.
in the end the 10 goth are cheaper, but japanese use less pop, so if both get 200 pop with champ japanese win. on the other hand if it's like 100 pop eco both, japanese wont get 70 champs as fast as goth 100 champ.

The problem with these tests are that, in all of these tests both parties are doing different styles of fighting. One party groups his units close before patrolling, the other starts to patrol right from start etcetc. The fight strats with a really wide formation and too close to each other for such a wide formation. Patrolling straight when units are so wide apart is not a good idea for testing.

We can see so clearly in every test the goth champs dont go together- a group of champs go astray and dont contribute to the fight for a crucial amount of time. In one of the tests the jap failed with patrol so despite the poor method of fighting goth won. In the last test, 3-4 of goth champs were a lot astray from the group for the start of the fight and despite it they just about won.

Test conditions have to be STRICT, and I have done fights in DM setting where the results didnt vary much for units like champ vs jaguar, EEW vs paladin, cata vs paladin etc.

Additionally, 100 goth champs possibly lose to 70 jap champs while 10 vs 7 is won easily by goths.

japanese is stronger 1v1 and goth more efficient as cheaper :lol:

You have to do a wider variety of tests to makie a conclusion. When I was testing berserks, I did something like 100 combats against my bro 11. You have to take into account only the battles where its clear both armies are doing the same patrol and no units are freezing.

as it was just a test, if a random guy said something wrong or right, you are wrong. it was not cost-based.

I once did a similar test on all civs champions (fu)
I made them destroy a variety of targets, and measured the time they needed to do this.
Also note down the number of HP they lost in the fight.
I added all these values, put it in an excel sheet and calculated the numbers:
Also took into accounts the units travelling speed ( as this effects their survival and battle effectivity)
