The theme of the map is revealed once the event starts (saturday 14GMT).

Submissions are accepted from saturday 14GMT until sunday 14GMT on this website:

After submission closes a team of judges will grade the maps. The selected winner will be rewarded with 50€, a 25$ Amazon Gift Card, and will see their map featured in Nili_AoE's KOTH7

Starting from this moment you will have 24hours to make a mapscript from scratch. For this weekends challenge you will make a scenario based mapscript, which is a ZR-map.
Read below the details of the challenge and how to make a ZR map (by zipping together a scenario file and a random map script)

I'll try to do a short stream later this day where I will be making a ZR map myself. I will also be answering questions, when anyone has problems getting the maps to work, or if there are any other things unclear for the format of this contest.

IMPORTANT: notice that the map name should be like this: '[email protected]_mapname.rms'


Theme:

City of God: architecture, wonders, palace, labyrinth, civilization, angels, heaven

Map Design:

Your entry will be a unique King of the Hill map, where the players are not spawning in a standard fashion around the monument, but are positioned elsewhere, and where the monument is NOT IN THE MIDDLE. It is up to you how to distribute the player positions fairly, and where to place the monument.

To achieve this, the map should be made as a ‘Zipped Random mapscript’ which consists of a scenario that acts as a ‘base layer’, and a random map script that will generate additional random terrains and objects.

In the scenario file you can add:

One gaia monument (not in the middle)

One player object (often a TC, but you can also choose for another object)

Any other gaia objects that you want to have a fixed position in your map. (perhaps some scenery around the monument?)

Any terrains that will be fixed. This allows you to make beautiful symmetrical map designs, or you to shape your map like an image.

Map Style:

Make sure that you make the scenario on 8 player size. The map will always be played in this size.

The map should be designed for 8 players. The way these kinds of maps work when less players are present, is that any objects around this missing player will just not spawn. The map however will still have the same layout.

You may add other objectives, or additional benefits/penalties for holding the monument.
