How about to ask game devs to add some kind of “tournament game” checkbox in game settings, which block an ability to see the map after the game ends as well as recs for some hours? Or maybe it’s possible to auto detect that someone is dropped and auto save and close the game after it?

Can we maybe get visible farms, units not pathing through other units, the patch from 3 weeks ago that failed, OOS Errors solved, more than 100 lobbies viewable in game, or literally any of the thousands of bug fixes before we worry about a special tournament mode that only helps a dozen people

I have never been a part of the Vietnamese AOE2 community, I'm just a 1700 pleb who enjoys the game alone. Therefore, I might not understand SOME of the Vietnamese AOE jargon used. I also have to say that due to the poor sound quality + the fact that I'm not too familiar with the accent that the guys speak, there are some parts that I might miss out on. I also didn't watch the game, so lack of context might have hurt.

The purpose of this post is to bring the situation to light and seek the truth, not to create extra drama.

I don't recognize who the others are, so I won't put a name on the translation of their part.

Songsong: (Something about having 179 ping) I quit the game and rejoined so it just updated the ping. It's been like that these past few days. It keeps lagging and freezing, it's really annoying.

Someone in the background: Do we restore or *inaudible* guys?
Songsong: Restore the current game.
(can't really make out what they're saying here)
Yo: I save and host.
Someone in the background: We're both gonna see each others' strategies now. Meh this sucks.

Here Songsong resigns and starts to view the map. Checks the Bulgarian player (Lyx) first.

Someone: The Berbers guy is Fast Castling.
Songsong: Hey look, the Berbers guy is taking wood at the bottom
Someone: He's going straight to Castle Age.
Someone: Play with low army. (I couldn't understand the rest of that sentence)
Someone else: *something* just go archers.

This is also when Songsong leaves the game and goes to the statistics page.
(I couldn't understand this part, but they were discussing about what army to make. "Make minimal army, don't leave any holes" I think)

Someone: *something*. The pocket is gonna play crossbows. They're gonna play cav archers, the Tartars guy and the Berbers guy (probably referring to camel archers for Berbers)
Songsong: Yea the Huns guy is playing cavalry.
Someone: *something about army choice*
Songsong: Ping is still bad. (This is when the lobby screen comes up). Why is my southeastasian ping still 190. Usually it lags for the entire day and stops lagging at 11pm.
*something in the background (probably someone asking what we should do about the situation)*
Songsong: No let's wait a bit, try to drag it out a bit. It's quite choppy.

Songsong: No, *something about other servers*. The Bulgarians and Huns guy *something about them making lots of army*, you guys try to play defensive
*guys in the background talking about potential strategies of team China, something about castle age army and cav archers*
Songsong (at 4:27): Stay at your base and play defensive.

Songsong restarts his game again, realizes that the ping is still bad. The guys start talking about how bad the internet is. Skip till the game starts again. Someone said it's still really laggy, but Songsong said let's just play anyways. This is around 8:12.

At 12:49: Someone: Tatars guy is playing 3 ranges.

In the remaindeer of the video, they didn't say anything that seemed unusual. At the end, they didn't talk about Songsong and his stream either, it just shut down. (I think this may have been due to his internet, as the game did lag more towards then end)

Yep, to sum it up. SongSong is dumb (we knew that) and got caught. Others are not as dumb, but did cheat aswell. And for that they're given 15% prize money reduction. If we're punishing the ones that were caught cheating by taking away 15%, it's pretty worth it to cheat, ngl.

Yes, for something that is impossible to enforce until Microsoft fix it, maybe it's easier and fair for everyone to agree that restoring mean the map is exposed in online tournament.
