Not really, considering how it was Tim's first offense and also how Team China immediately came forward with it. SongSong on the other hand, has been a repeated offender 4+ times.

But I understand where you are coming from - as they both committed the same "cheat" in theory.

It's a tricky scenario, as this can happen to any player, irrespective of whether they had the intent to cheat or not. Best thing going forward is that we bring back Voobly's Save & Exit system where players are immediately thrown out of the game once the game is saved to restore.

definitely not Tim's first offense, he engaged in uncompetitive behavior with happyhappy in that 1v1 tournament in like 2016 and received penalty points which he didn't accept so he left the tournament. Then he (and his whole team) were also accused of spec cheating in NC 2017. Anyways, banning 1 player is pretty meaningless given how easy it is to share accounts and continue playing undetected.

It's not hard at all to end task in task manager and avoid any chance of seeing the map and stats in this situation.
To actually go ahead and look at the map like that makes 0 sense, the mental gymnastics needed to justify that to oneself...

There’s even no need to go via task manager, if you choose «quit» rather than «resign» in-game, it will bring you to the stats screen immediately, with no map vision unless you click «return to map».

Big difference between being caught and self-reporting.

Nobody even knew Tim also looked at the map. The fact that Yo self-reported when he realized it's a violation shows how deeply he cares about competitive integrity and is willing to make his team conform with tournament rules.

On the other side, from the VN-A team, all we've seen is players (or their "friends") coming here to post ridiculous arguments about how VN should get the win even though they made an unfair play. Their uniform opinion about Songsong is that he's "stupid to do it on stream."

It's likely Songsong did the same thing in Game 3 but it was not streamed and no Vietnamese players have reported it. The result of their complicity is that VN-A now keeps an unfair win in Game 3. If they're so willing to hide the unfair actions of their teammates even after part of it is discovered, then only god knows how much of Songsong's dirty tricks have been buried in the past because his teammates are covering for him.

The demonstrated attitudes of the players make all the difference. It's clear that Yo is willing to help monitor his team, so it's reasonable to let Tim continue to play in this tournament. It's also clear that nobody on VN-A is willing to discourage or report bad behavior, and their future behavior is no longer detectable after they turned off their streams. So of course Songsong needs to be DQ-ed and the rest of the team need to share their POV.

I am wondering whether the bad reputation of some vietnamese players (SS, BadB) is the reason ACCM and BacT didnt sign up for this tournament (to avoid teaming up with players that cheated before)

I don't think it was for BacT, because he is only playing very little anyway.
But either way, it might be good for ACCM, because he wants to focus on 1v1 and even if I don't believe participating in the team would have hurt his 1v1 shape a lot, the controversies and problems could definitely have affected him mentally in a negative way.
We all would have liked to have seen him fight for the title in a Nations Cup (could definitely be top 4), but this won't be the last Nations Cup and I think he will stay around, so maybe he'll have another chance.

I do hope, this is just lack of English. Otherwise this is lack of moral, which would be far worse. At the same time, teaming 3 cheaters kind of shows the same.
