It'll be fun to see how these changes actually play out, reading about it is one thing, actually playing is another. I remember when everyone thought Bohemian trash monks would break the game 11. Slavs seem like they could be a real force with longswords in early castle age.
I think so far my favorite casting duos have been Dash/Hera and Dave/Lidakor. I really appreciate Lidakor's casting. Nili/T90 is a bit much since they both indulge one another's jokes, not totally my sense of humor. I've really enjoyed the casting/games/production overall though.
"I am always surprised. Because I though of Age of Empires II as a highly specialized game, but Hallis AOC still makes relatively big mistakes. Of course, he fails on a much higher level than most, but that he still is able to get 2k3. Wow BTW. Why is game speed 1.7?"
From a random chatter in...
Yeah the B-stream seems like a necessary evil, they have finite time and resources so it's the best option. It's like I would prefer the CL to schedule midweek games so I can watch all of the good ones but realistically they can't, so they start (mostly) at the same time.
Really impressed with...
Did this patch break player color mods? My normally used one (Classic Color Fix) fixes the color selection icons but the in-game player colors are still the standard ones. I've tried a few others with no luck. Did I miss something?
Targeting a town center or farm (any large building) causes a mangonel to attack the center of it, which can be used to get a bit of extra range on shots in mango fights. I may have the mechanics of this wrong, but that's my rough memory of it. Fun thread!
It would be interesting if srivamshas dodge ability would become less pronounced as they got closer to the attacking unit, though I'd imagine that would be hard to implement.
I'd honestly like to see both AOE2 and 4 side by side. Would be fun to see how the games compare in a very similar setting, plus I think it'll net even more viewers. Love the RBW events and I'm glad to see Red Bull is responding to the love previous events got. Forza AOE
He's said himself he doesn't expect to reach the very top, that it's too competitive and not a realistic goal. He's reached Masters before (I don't know where that is but it sounds high), so I'd imagine he can get a decent level and be a good streamer there.
This was always the plan, no? Viper said he'd be back to AOE2 after Golden League, same as Liereyy. Do we need a post every time we see Hera/Liereyy/Viper streams AOE2 again despite them all saying they will in the future?
My dream for Saracens was an Imp tech called Ghilman which would work effectively like supplies for Mamelukes. Not that it would make them great, but it would improve Mames viability. Might be a bit too strong on closed map, I'm unsure.
I'm cautiously optimistic about balance, I thought they did a pretty good job with Poles and Bohemians out of the gate. Either way, it should be fun to see the new civs and how they operate. Honestly, I like having civs that look like they'll be good on hybrid maps, it feels like a lot of S-tier...
I hope that going forward we can focus on the positives from this event and allow that to inform people in making decisions about future tournaments, be it for AOE2 or AOE4, rather than the negatives. Not to say that people shouldn't be criticized for making poor decisions, just that there is a...
Do people really think Microsoft should just throw in the towel in regards to AOE4 and make no attempt to advertise/publicize it? Far worse games have gotten much bigger than this through sheer 'force of will' from their publishers.
I really like these little graphical changes. I would love to get region-specific monks and maybe a few other graphics changes, like making the karambits look less like male villagers.
