I have started building a .ura database so I can do a deep analysis of the current metagame involving some machine learning. So far the database isn't large enough though (~1000 games).

Of course not. I have developed the tools that can produce a database for any given set of games (input - .mgz files, output - .ura files + metadata file).
You can take a look at the KOTD2 games database I created and posted here. The database has a metadata file attached, and the opening strategy is one of the metadata fields.
