Does anybody else struggle a little bit with purple being part of the "warm colours" (red, yellow, orange) during team games? My brain tends to associate purple with the "cold colours" and as a spectator I often find that I have to remind myself which team purple is on.
Given that hardly anyone...
I’m confused by your whole approach here. Weren’t you trying to make Alperen look more appealing to potential sponsors?
Ever heard the expression, “with friends like these, who needs enemies”?
Hello! I’m interested in resubmitting a map that I originally made for a different tournament. That map had some improvements made by (I believe) the tournament admin, mostly around fairer resources spawns. Is it okay to submit the improved version even if it isn’t 100% my work? Thanks.
Muisca (Colombian civ, last to be conquered by Spanish); Polynesians or Māori; Thule (proto-Inuits, aka Skraelings); Zimbabwe; Tibetans (never going to happen but would be nice). Please no more European civs.
Great event! Obviously, the quality of a one-map event owes a lot to the quality of the map. Arabia has historically been the best map, but recent versions have taken a lot of the shine off. This version of Arabia was brilliant and restored my faith in fun, agile, aggressive play. Hats off to...
I’d agree with the fellow posters who emphasize simplifying the messaging and format a bit more. (DM me if you’d like another pair of eyes on the rulebook and/or supplementary materials – I was a copy editor in a previous life and would be happy to help out, gratis.)
I don’t know if...
Interesting, thanks. I might be wrong again, but from looking at the methodology here it seems like players can't actually lose points from bad results, so this system rewards players who participate in a high volume of tournaments (e.g. ACCM). In this sense the Elo system is better because of...
This site is a fantastic resource, especially the head to head feature. The problem with its rankings (and with robo’s list, from what I can tell*) is that it weights all tournaments equally. So going out in the first round of an S tier tournament can easily be offset, points-wise, by going deep...
Based on that logic, MbL would have to be second, since he beat Vinchester and was only knocked out by TheViper, the eventual champion. Of course, MbL also lost to Sitaux, who lost to Liereyy, who lost to Vinchester, so maybe we should just accept that any of the top players can beat each other...
Definitive rankings are basically impossible. But I think we can identify "tiers" based on what would or wouldn't count as an upset. Beating someone in a higher tier is an upset, beating someone in a higher subtier is a slight upset, matches between players in the same tier are only upsets if...
I picture Slam as more of a chestnut horse personally but I like where this is going.
What kind of steed are each of the players?
Yo is a draught horse: always carries his team.
MbL is a llama: funny and generally likeable but might spit in your face.
Daut is a mule: not the fastest but...
I get this is a troll thread but just from reading your posts here it seems like you've grown up a bit in the past couple of years. If a break from the game helps you focus on that, it's definitely the right call. (I'd also add that seeking attention/validation on internet forums is never...
What a player he was at his peak. Sure he never did get that one big tournament result, but he was arguably one of the most impactful figures in the game's history—for a couple of years his style took root at all levels of the game and was inescapable.
It's heartbreaking to learn what had been...
