Yes, that AI is a beast .Only beat it once and lost to it like 10 times so far. In 1v1. Never beat it in a team game. On 1v1 Arabia I find it much more difficult than Barbarian or Promi.
The AI is a beast. The only drawback? Annoying AF.
Just kidding. Pretty sure that that can be turned off. They probably just wanted to demonstrate how it works (the flaring is part of how the AI detects stuff, I assume).
Oh, in case I wasn't clear I meant in the mods section of AoE2 DE. Choose data mod filter and search for TOAO. That's where to search. Sorry if I was unclear for anybody who is interested.

I will find it really interesting, fair and enjoyable to watch for a change ... but I definitely wouldn't want it to be the new standard. A big part of AoE is having to adapt to your map differently to your opponent and having some RNG and luck aspect with regard to the random maps.
