As nonsensical as deathcounter’s ramblings always are, this one actually has one good idea. An icon that shows who randomed their civ would be good imo.
There are practical reasons we cant have admins overseeing each individual game in a tournament. But thats a separate thing altogether imo.
There is only one issue here as far as I can see and that is that the map script was not good enough. There are enough tools to use to ensure fair resource...
But we can ensure that the amount of resources on the islands are identical - even down to a single tree. The only exception would be relics if we wanna stick with the standard amount. So I dont think we should give up on the idea of playing Team Islands in a serious tournament - not for that...
As long as picks and bans are presented well in between sets Im all for recorded games. I agree with the settings of Hidden Cup that only finals are kept live. So much smoother for everyone involved.

I really dont like the auto-scouting, based of my one game of testing to play with it. After manually scouting in dark and fedal age, putting the scout on auto scouting gave me 100% scouting so fast. It honestly takes away so much skill. No more need to actively scout for extra golds, it like...
Ideally map scripters would be given tools to control the placements of player resources (as in front/back), adding randomness to that is all good as long as it would be fair and somewhat even between players.

I do like the idea of increasing the boar's bonus damage vs scouts and changing back to 2 hit aggression.
Laming is definetely an important part of the game and needs to stay. But the way it works now will force it to be banned in tournaments and showmatches until its dealt with imo.
If that data is fetchable I would hope that the aoe2.net leaderboards could display numbers and % of early quits (before the 1 minute mark) as well. I think that would be enough as a deterrence for players to dodge systematically.
This is what I liked in this event:
The level of play was amazing and created a lot of very interesting sets all through the tournament. I liked the settings a lot, the hidden pick no repeat is a great setting to cut down on downtime in between games - and the no laming + no restarts also work...
