Hasn't there been a tournament a while ago that had hidden scores? I may confuse it with the symmetrical maps, which I know Memb has hosted one time and I think noone loved the settings, but I seem to remember a separate tournament that had hidden scores.
I also can't remember the reception of...
Isn't a large problem with cosmetics that only the buyer can see, that it can be copied as a free mod basically instantly when someone buys it and has access to the cosmetic files?
If you take 2022 and 2023 S-tier 1v1 tournaments, according to Liquipedia, GL has won 4/9 tournaments, with Viper taking a third and Tatoh taking one as well. Meanwhile, aM' has only won 1/9 with Hera taking the grand melee. Liereyy hasn't won a single one past year. Yo has won 2/9, and then...
Congrats to Tatoh!! Great day to watch aoe2 and really nice final set.
Also very nice that he won considering his road certainly wasn't easy, facing Liereyy (twice), Hera, Jordan, ACCM.
A 75k peak wouldn't really surprise me, tbh. The advantage of having multiple games shown is that there are always people from all games that stick around for other games that they mainly watch purely due to the production quality and continuous flow of the event. Also, with RBW5 they have shown...
I think, balance wise, you first have to consider the pro players though.
I do wonder if this change really affects them too much though. Because the problem with archers has never been, in my opinion, the cost of the upgrade, but more so that you can build a large mass starting from feudal age...
I understand your point, but I think there's a counterargument where it could actually help casual players as well.
First of all, while it may not be as accurate when you have a group of people, all with different skill levels like you described, it does help people who only play with a regular...
The problem is that the way they implemented it before was a cause for a large inflation of points into the system, where the system was supposed to have a set number of points for a given amount of players. The current system will fix this so it should behave properly now. (remains to be seen...
The way I saw it, was that system much more closely represents what was used on Voobly, right? Where the lower rated player gets a sharp increase in points when he's below average and very high rated players don't get any points, really. There should be no inflation with the way they proposed...
Isn't it slightly unfair to only compare steam numbers? If you look at the side which aoeZone is interested in, the competitive ladder, the playerbases are roughly equal according to aoe2.net and aoeiv.net if you look at the 1v1 ladder.
I don't play aoe4 myself, nor do I really enjoy to watch...
