Memb announced it on his channel yesterday for anyone who didn't see.
Already hyped! Great to see Microsoft still sponsoring large prize pools. I was really impressed with how much traction and interest the last HC generated, hope to see similar #s...
Nice initiative.
It's obviously trickier to do and coordinate but providing lower ranked players with these types of opportunities and tournament experiences is really important for the future of the game. Hope it's a success!
Haha I do remember them! I always took it as Viper messing around with him. Don't think he really has that type of personality to just brutally insult someone.
I've always wondered what it would do to the scene if the #1 consensus player was really a massive **** talker. Like if 8th wonder had just become #1 back in 2014 and was dominating everyone while simultaneously talking endless amounts of **** on the forums. Have to admit that would be pretty...
The internet is one giant chatroom.
In all seriousness, if people are really upset with him for being too dominant their frustration is obviously misdirected. The onus is on the other top players to step up their game and figure out a way to beat or at least push Hera. Lierey has the ability to...
Does he get a lot of hate? I don't read the stream chats much but when you have thousands of people in one chatroom there's always going to be a few who don't like a particular player or person.
I'm old enough to remember when every Hera vs. Lierey series would end 4-3 or 5-4.
Also when the prevailing narrative was Hera couldn't beat Lierey in a major tournament.
A lot can change in a short amount of time. Hera's gameplay is incredible and his performance these last 2 years is right...
Well that was a really disappointing final. Hopefully see a lot of urgency from the other top players to close the gap with Hera because right now every S-tier tournament seems to have a predetermined winner.
Yeah I admittedly haven't watched any Vasco games yet but I'd agree Lierey would not be able to impersonate Hera's style of play as easily as the reverse.
Well after watching the entire series today it's clear Alexios is a top-3 player.
In-form Lierey is still the best bet but wouldn't rule out Hera either. He's been so far ahead of the rest of the field that he could safely alter his gameplay/gamestyle in the earlier rounds to mimic Lierey and...
Viper has always had the upperhand against Lierey on hybrid type maps.
Prime Lierey was better at Arabia and wide open land maps but never quite got to the level of Viper/Hera on the hybrids.
Were his recent struggles really as simple as that?
Not a rhetorical question I'm genuinely asking. I didn't get a chance to watch NAC but the results were so far off his standard I figured it must be a lot of different things going wrong for him at the moment, not just the archer bug.
To be honest HC has always been my least favorite of the S-tier type events. Just not my cup of tea personally. That said it's pretty clear this one came at the perfect time and injected some freshness into the competitive scene that's been lacking lately.
For a while Hera and Lierey were on the same trajectory. Now that their "careers" have gone in completely different directions over the last year we're in a really dicey spot IMO. Even when Viper was "untouchable" for that 5-6 year stretch, Jordan was always a looming threat. He seemed to always...
One of the more shocking dips in performance I can remember over the last 10-15 years. He was basically an undisputed top-2 player from 2016-2022 and could do things with his army even Hera couldn't pull off.
