A couple of years back (time moves so fast...), I remember this new AOE2 guy on twitch, Hera, who after some arguing with his family decided to start streaming instead of working at the local Seven-Eleven - now I learn he turned down a 1.4M offer by Facebook (didn't expect AOE2 streamers would...
Actually, Memb's English skills have improved massively, I'd say especially within the last two years (incl. using Cambridge-stlye UK English idioms) - you can e.g. check the number of viewers from English speaking countries watching "the champions invitational" at Memb's stream (and not Hera's)
About Viper and T90 - I've been wondering for a long-time:
When they left, both had a huge viewerbasis on twitch, peaking four or five thousands viewers sometimes even on average days, the facebook / meta share was worth roughly 5 times what it is worth today and Zuckerberg had just announced...
in his post-game interview, the - U.S. - player myi.daniel was wearing a shirt with Swiss "Postfinance" and "Swisscom" sponsor-patches on it - how come?
i don't know how this Warlords grand final is gonna turn out in the end...
...but it just feels great to watch TheViper at his best (its been a while...) - games vs yo and lierrey were just fantastic, khmer on socotra vs yo - holy f...
a fanboy
It just aint realistic.
If the top age 2 players focus on age 2 only and the top age 4 players focus on age 4 only and viper focusses on both games at the same time he will not succeed in winning at least one of both disciplines (at which he will have a real shot at if he focusses on e.g. age 2).
No - I assume:
1) its one discipline at best you can master at a specific moment (you cannot be top 1-5 in age 2 and 4 at the same time while others focus on age 2 or 4 only)
2) only ranks 1-4 are worth training for (this might depend on other opportunities, the country you are living in and the...
As an AOE 2 fan (who has not been following the AOE 4 ladder lately), I understand:
1) Currently, there are only two AOE 2 players who excel at both Age II and IV
2) It is not realistic to compete in more than one age edition at the same time (because you can't train on world class level for...
Jesus... I've not seen anyone play like Capoche in this particular game ever... permanently attacking at 5 different spots, somehow going castle, somehow defending, somehow attacking... if starts walling at all or even learns quick walling, the guy is gonna be unstoppable... Congrats.
I've also been playing the game since its early days and I thinks 1300 DE was one of the best ratings I ever achieved. My two cents:
Speed: I did realize that I often get lost because I simply lack speed. Now I of course use hotkeys etc. But for using these hotkeys, I only did use two fingers...
Dear Mbl
Please excuse me for being blunt but ...Jesus Christ, stop whining and just cope with it - change is the one inevitable thing in life...
I did and do love Voobly because it gave age a new - and even better- home, and it is surely a shame that it now suffers...
But, well I'm one of...
memb's got the heart, nili's got the brain...
memb organizes a tournament and others get double the viewership - nili Comes up with a very innovative idea and takes out his competitors by simply inviting them… I think membs average viewership before nac 2 was around 500-700, now ist not even...
Jesus christ… thx Memb for putting so much work in this Event, we are all Aware that perfect solutions which satisfy everyone do not exist...
...and about the rest, what a ******ed discussion is this? The seeding is reasonable and ist Membs call - if you don't like it, don't watch, don't...
Rather thinking of the success factors of tournaments I've been following the past two years:
- good casting: i think nac duos, Viper/daut or t90/Dave defined the standard, i think 1 caster < 2 casters, there are more an less gifted casters out there...
- real Competition: Viper vs lierrey kotd...
Just finished watching s08e05 while drinking some red wine… it is just... terrible...
I've hardly ever seen anything like it, be it on tv or on the big screen - you may not like the story, but the way it is done, unbelieveable...
Being honest, Season 8 resp. the end of the story, after 7 years, is just too sad...
People claim they like got because its brutal, unforeseeable, shocking - and now season 8 is all of that, and people don't like it...
One might argue that writing & character development have been more careful...
Well, I got no issue admitting that I like this "Viper" guy a lot - he seems intelligent, disciplined, humble, but still funny (even cocky sometimes) - he is not only a sensationell Player but also a great Entertainer.
In tournaments, he might decide on sub-Optimal strategies once in a while...
