My ideas of adjustment referring to Carlos' and John's balance patch http://www.voobly.com/gamemods/view/13/ ... ce%20Patch
Plumed Archer +1 wood + 1 gold base cost
Cavalary Archer +2 gold (40w 62g)
Huskarl attack bonus vs Archer units reduced to 0
Militia +1 pierce armor (0/1)
Long swordsman...
As I was saying in another thread, those who want to play with new and improved stats should not wait for others, because there will always be people (perhaps many) who do not want to move on.
So I was thinking how about a separate room in Voobly for those that want to play (a) balance patch so...
Without using walls or building castles?
I tried few times and never succeeded because he creates an insane amount of units very quickly...
if you manage to beat it post the rec here.
Rules:
-Conquest
-standard for everything else
-no castles or walls by human player
-both huns
-AoFE version...
I think it could be a most interesting tournament with new strategies and surprises.
Also it would be a most excellent way to test the changes, with top players giving their opinions after.
Would you endorse such an event, or maybe even donate some time or money for this cause?
If 50% of the community wants a balance patch then we should use one, why wait for those that don't want one?
It will never be 100% agreeing on it. While Carlos' patch may not be exactly what you had/have in mind, I do feel it does make the game much more balanced than before...
so I recommend...
Since people are speaking of mini balance patch, here is my opinion:
1. Monks:
double conversion time
2. Buildings, Ships, Archers and Hand cannons:
don't target Rams unless there is no other unit in attack range
3. Walls:
Stone wall takes 2 seconds longer to build, Palisade walls cost +1 wood...
Of all units monks give you the most bang for your buck, in other words they are very overpowered.
Here is a basic example when up against, knights:
If they convert a (full hp) knight it makes a difference of 270 resources that is you gain 135 resource unit value and enemy loses 135 resource...
Can be upgraded at the archery range (or alternatively at the University) that is available for all civs and reads: Skirmishers do an additional +1 damage vs ranged units except Siege and Throwing Axemen. Cost: 100 food 200 gold
Edit, was supposed to read :Balance Patch idea: new tech to make...
How about 8 expert players each get a noob player between 1500-1600elo which they have one month to train, after that time there will be a 1v1 tournament in a round robin between those noobs and the winning noob gets to share the price money 50-50 with the expert that trained him.
There has been much discussion about potential balance changes,
the problem is that while most of us seem to want a change,
what happens is that the community does not agree on what needs to be changed and to what degree.
To conform with this opposing/indecisive/wavering attitude of the...
Since Tyrants are simply too dominate and would win every TG tournament, the teams could be made random, all top players will be separated and their teammates get drawn at random from the remaining participants.
I want to watch the tourney recs but won't be having internet anymore starting next months. I was hoping that the 1.4 patch could possibly be made available in single player offline modus.
huge bug in FE when you select some units that are not on the same spot they stay separate and don't meet at the spot you tell them to.
this really needs to be fixed it complete messed up my last game.
Ever accidentally clicked on a tree when gathering food?
Well I had the most brilliant idea of how to change that in a patch:
For example, when you gather gold and accidentally click on wood with your miners they will not lose the resource until they arrive at the other resource and start...
