TL;DR: How useful would it be if a civ mined gold faster than Turks, but only got like 80% of the gold from the mine? The civ would try to deplete all the gold on the map and force a trash war.
What if a civ had the opposite of the Mayan bonus? They would gather certain resources quicker but...
I've seen videos of people reaching Feudal as fast as 5 minutes by luring Boars ASAP, sometimes with Scouts. I've never seen competitive players do it, though, so I'm guessing not but is there any small, possible use for a "Fast Feudal"?
Do you Drush every time? Are the bonuses for hunting really that useless?
Do you Fast Castle?
Do you fight in the Feudal Age? If so, do you just do Archers or can you go with Man-At-Arms?
Do you do anything different besides XBows and Knights in Castle?
I believe the in-game tech tree either describes them as a "Defensive civ" or "Infantry civ." I don't have access to the game right now.
If that's true, then that means NOBODY is classifying them as a cavalry civ except for you, fireboy1.
As an addendum, Wheelbarrow and Hand Cart improve Farming rates due to the extra carrying capacity.
The Aztecs' advantage over other civs diminishes when the other civs research Wheelbarrow and Hand Cart, down to like 1 or 2% faster once everybody (including themselves) have researched Hand Cart.
Well in a thread that's called "Make up a unique unit," I think I'm allowed to pretend that there is a way to shield my UU specifically from Siege weapon attacks.
Well, instead let's imagine him having anti-Siege armor kind of like how the Cataphract has anti-Cavalry bonus armor.
I'm imagining a unit with lower HP than a Huskarl. A Huskarl has 70 HP, so he takes 70 arrows to kill. My unit would have something more like 50 HP or something.
Actually...
Routier - British/French Mercenary Outlaw Dragoon-Archer guy. He "packs" and "unpacks" like a Treb. When "packed," he rides around on a horse and can attack from the horse but has an extremely slow firing rate and does poor damage. When "unpacked" he dismounts and his attack speed, damage, and...
You're right that Chinese H Scorps to do a little bit more damage to high pierce armor units than Celts. Chinese H Scorps can kill individual targets quicker than Celts so I'm wrong that Chinese are completely outclassed by Celts.
However, Celts still have +1 range, 25 more HP, and do more...
Re: What if Koreans lost Villager LoS bonus but got +1 LoS t
Is the Korean Castle Age really their problem?
They do get +1 range for Mangonels but that's kind of whatever.
What kind of advantages might this give to a Korean player? Could it possibly be good enough to make them worth using on open maps?
What if the Koreans team bonus (+1 range to Mangonel line) became a regular bonus, and the team bonus instead gave Villagers +2 Line of Sight, and then all Korean...
Chinese ones are completely outclassed by Celt ones.
In 15 seconds, a Chinese Heavy Scorp will attack 3 times while a Celt one will attack 4 times.
Chinese attack with 16+5 attack 3 times which is 63 damage, while Celts will do 68 damage.
Furthermore, Rocketry doesn't affect pass-through...
No other civ gets the same bonus that the Byzantines get.
There's 3 trash units, and they are the only one to get two of them cheaper. So saying they get cheaper trash or cheaper counter units is accurate.
Plus Hand Cannoneers are an anti-Infantry counter unit but they don't get cheaper HCs.
tl;dr: What if Turks could gather gold +33% faster starting in Dark Age but have no Gold Mining or Gold Shaft Mining to balance it out. This would give them an improved Drush and Archers in Feudal. OP or not?
The goal is to make Turks better early game so that they can survive late game. The...
TL;DR: Let's say that the Spearman line can defeat Eagles cost effectively. Would that make Eagles less crazy or useless? Is there a specific line where it might be a good idea? Any arguments that I haven't taken into account?
WARNING: LOOOOONG READ AHEAD
This idea can go very bad. Halbs...
tl;dr: Elite Mangudai are borderline OP, so imagine if they had 70 HP they can be killed by Siege Onagers. Good or bad?
Let's pretend that both Mangudai and Elite Mangudai have base 50 HP, so 70 with Bloodlines researched.
Siege Onagers will now OHKO them, Paladins will kill them in 5 hits...
He's trying to make himself into a reverse Philippe Le Bon: instead of overly loving the Vikings and posting about it all the time, he overly hates the Aztecs and posts about it all the time.
