I always prefer longer sets, and I think a bo9 is correct for a grand final, even if it is 3v3 (assuming the semfinals were played the day before).
Here's an idea to eliminate the supplemental draft: start with a draft of 1 ban each, 20 civs each. Then after each game, each team "steals" one...
I just want to put it out there that the Saturday quarterfinals were absolutely amazing. I'm sad for the teams that lost, but the teams that won played really well and deserved to move on. I've been enjoying the entire tournament, but these sets really proved how good the maps are and how...
If there was any disappointment, it was some players performing exceptionally in the early stages of the tournament (Yo, Jordan), then not doing so well in the playoffs (Yo losing to Vinchester, Jordan losing to Viper and getting swept by Liereyy), which made for some slightly imbalanced...
What's your logic for having more bans for longer series? Is it that in a BO9, the third best civ could play against the 20th best civ? I'm guessing they didn't want much more than half the civs to be picked/banned, and doing it the way they did allows all the drafts to go roughly the same depth.
He also went full-time around the time T90 left.
Anyway, great sets this weekend. Final four is gonna be great! Petition for DauT to do the interview after the Viper/Jordan semifinal.
Late-night games have always been a reality, and they will continue to be if only one game is played at a time. It's always midnight somewhere. I personally think start times should be an hour or so earlier each day - even 13:00 or 12:00 GMT is reasonable. The only way to really help is to...
Jordan and Yo have had the best performances so far, I think. 3-1 against Hera is really good, and Viper basically gave game 2 to MbL and also nearly lost the ro32. I'm hoping for an epic Viper/Jordan semi, and I think Jordan will have a much better shot this time than their semi in RBW5. But...
That's what I thought of too when I saw 14 players. They might still be entertaining the idea of doing ACCM and Yo online.
Anyway, the decisions here are obviously not ideal, but I think they are the right ones considering everything else that has happened. The qualifier is gonna be good.
