Unpopular opinion but you shouldn't be able to ban maps on ranked, it should be a ranking of players across all maps not just their favourites.
HOWEVER, we lack a good quick play system and people use the ladder as a way to casually play against other people instead of using the quick play or...
First off, I know DLC is required to keep the game running and for Microsoft to keep supporting the game. I'm not saying we should get rid of DLC.
I am however worried that we might be heading towards the new civs being stronger overall than the civs you would get with DE. While it's not too...
More people play for fun now than 10 years ago. The people at the top making money now built this community for no money for a very long time.
How is tournament play impacting you in a negative way?
If you think the game is only about money and tournaments I'd suggest that's a you problem...
The games were fantastic, credit to DWL for pioneering the settings and thanks to TGM for pushing it further. Apart from that and the Jordan and DauT co-cast (which got taken down for a while) there wasn't much I liked about the tournament if I'm being honest.
To me it doesn't matter who...
A panel discussion/Q&A is something I assume most people watching the livestream would've have enjoyed seeing. Why was the secret livestock theme prioritised over this?
I might be overreacting but the whole secretive aspect and lack of transparency annoyed me from the start and prioritising...
- He seems to have played at an amazing level in the last few months, IMO best form I've seen him in. However this didn't convert into S-tier victories (before TGM), how did he keep going after playing so well yet not seeing it reflected in results?
- Building on the previous, did he change...
Can someone please do a post win interview with Hera, it felt so flat not getting to hear his emotions in full after such a big moment. I know the emotion might have dissipated a little but it would still be nice to hear his thoughts.
They might've needed to move AOE2 out of the venue ASAP but...
I never said LAN = better
Just listed it's advantages. Online has benefits too, players in their own set ups, higher level of play (simple fact that all players can participate, lower expenses to host, logistically simpler, the scene is used to them so they usually have less hiccups.
We need...
Don't underestimate the benefits a LAN can provide
Crowd provides a few things , atmosphere, community building, revenue from tickets and other things like merch and food. Player relations, easier anti-cheat, more marketability thus more exposure, being at Dreamhack means even more exposure...
Once the pros start paying more attention to them they'll work out which ones are the best of the available civs that they could use. Shakal is correct, this change would only see variety for a month or two. Trust that the devs will patch and update civs to keep match ups from becoming Arabia...
Other games? Not sure, but it's true for traditional sports. Since most have been around forever the easiest example would be to look at female competitions since they are only just now (relatively) growing for the most part. As their job opportunities grow, the talent pool explodes.
The problem is it's a worse product for sets of equal or in some cases arguably more importance. Daut, a former Red Bull champion was knocked out on the b-stream, that should never happen.
