Looks quite nice - especially interested in the serperate balance in 3v3. The bad Tg design (as blizzard didnt care about them at all) is the reason I went to AoE II from SC II. So the game looks quite interesting - but far too early to judge anything :).
Ofc it is - but even if you quickwall all your stuff that is an serious disadvantage. Its alot of idle time - your vils will work alot worse. Normally your eco is a complete mess after quickwalling all those camps and often you fail at some spot anyways and lose 1-2 vils but even if you are...
Well the counter to getting forward castle dropped is building military - your opponent invested 650 ressources less into military/eco so you need to be already behind to get castledropped if the map isnt Nomad.
And even on Nomad getting castledropped is mostly your mistake. The meta is to play...
@Hunyadi_ It's not like the GL boys always focus on the tournaments that are going on - They prepared a lot for KotD with really strong performances. Now there was Steel Series, Winter Series, and the 3v3 in AoE IV - ofc they are now catching up to the AoE IV meta to try to compete there - They...
I want to see you go for a 25min boom on Sokotra. And I delete my TC every 4th game in TGs nothing wrong with douching 11 (clearly the best game in kotd so far was the douche from vivi 11). Also the fun thing about Bf is that the flanks play sokotra and the pockets play a full boom (at least...
Ye, it also depends a lot on the players left - Viper and Mista are both defensive reactive players - if you give Viper the opportunity he also booms into imp with few units mass castles everything so :D. And Mista also is a very defensive player he hunts every game and seems to love his FC...
I'm really surprised at the critique of AoE IV by the OP - there is a lot to criticize but he is criticizing a lot of the selling points of AoE IV:
I strongly disagree with Age IV being slower at the start - there is a lot of action in the early game compared to AoE II - French English start...
Tbh smurfs also have their place in the game - i think it's more matchmaking mistake that you climb so damn slow. If I want to play with rl friend that is new I'm not gonna queue with my main account - I will create a smurf and we will start climbing while he is improving.
I actually think...
I only play 2v2 and 3v3s and we mostly play weird maps trying weird strategies - like cuman+ sicilians + italians on Team Island and wall in and defeat one with cuman feudal rams and mass scouts :D.
But actually most people don't dodge maps we don't either so we get around every 2nd map TI or...
I don't face that problem as I'm just banning arabia most of the time and play a lot of megarandom/team islands/nomad or goldrush - on those maps different civs are meta anyways - I actually don't think its a civ problem more a map problem. Many people only want to play arabia - I don't mind...
Or just pick civ and activate random symbol. But ye playing random is frustrating if you end up with a weak civ and play vs some pro players. I got slaughtered by Tatoh and Mbl last week and ofc both games I ended up with suboptimal civs - not that having a meta civ would have saved me :P.
Yesterday we struggled to create a party and then in both games that started, at least, one guy crashed at the start.
What is the problem with civ/position picking in teamgames? If you want to play a serious 3v3 tg you are supposed to have a knight pocket and archer flanks. As long as there is...
It also makes playing standard weaker bc everybody seeing the incas is fearing the vil rush 11. I actually liked playing the vil rush from time to time :( .
Maybe but still a map where you can play few games when its once in the rotation. Ofc its not Nomad the best TG map. No idea why blackforest and arena are always in the tg mappool, but not Nomad :( .
