Looking at other competitive e-sports I think we need a more modern matchmaking system that incorporates drafting.
In most e-sports the pick/ban phase or drafting is a vital part of the game, it adds an element of strategy and when done right, can even be interesting for viewers.
With RBW2 we have a sponsor that is serious about e-sports and makes it clear aoe2 has much potential, if only as an appetizer for aoe4.
