Apart from MBTI, I think that, obviously, peoples personality, or mindset, has a HUGE role in basically every game.
In my experience there are players who start a game with, more or less, the mindset "what do I do to win" and people thinking "okay, how can I not die".
If you are at the point where your opponent cant make anything except hiding vills and you cant finish him you dont deserve the win.
Resigning implies that you (as the losing player) know that your opponent can defeat you.
