Masters of Megarandom was great. It was even organised by yours truly, Swissboyy.
Dark age starts, Castle age starts, wonders here, wonders there, unorthodox strategies, bizarre maps,...
Perhaps it is a bit too casual.
I sometimes wonder if these old legends like Chris, Grunt, Halen,... check out the aoe scene and are like; "wtf this Daut guy is not only still playing but he's also still one of the best players in the game!!!"
Might I add that slam's signup post has the most likes?!
I suggest we give him a reasonable 50% of the prizepool just for participating! After all, we know T90 would barely get any viewers if the fan favorite wouldn't participate.
This is what I liked in this event:
Cool event, nice atmosphere, great games. Great production quality, decent casters. Very enjoyable tournament.
This is what made me tune in:
Daut is such a funny guy. He's great. Dave is such a funny guy. He's great.
This is what I think could be improved...
Same with a civpool when announced beforehand. You can prepare strategies but with the added benefit of seeing some other civs. The clownish mayans, goths, turks set used in MoArena is obviously not a great example.
WiC had civ sets, losing team could pick their set first. Arabia invitational...
"the Chinese"... They didn't "split" into two teams. They're just two different teams. SY is probably the oldest team in ECL (except VNS?).
COuld be wrong but I don't think Yo and Tim ever even played in the same team.
Despite your refutal of it, it is a pretty good argument.
ECL was open to everyone aswell.
There have been plenty of new top players. Lierrey, Hearttt, Themax, Villese, Laaaan,...
You could argue that even Hera, vivi, Mbl and Tatoh are completely different players compared to 2016.
Can't you just ban trushing?
Say you have a bo7, give every player 1trush and be done with it. You're not allowed to make aggressive towers. Or give them 0trushes and you wouldn't even need to practice it in rated games.
