I don't think skin is a good way for real-time strategy game, too many units to distinguish between each others. And micro-transaction for civs ($1 per month if you want to play Cuman, for example) would get people really, really angry. There are people in this thread asking for the "in-game...
Trirem answered in a post somewhere saying that it is possible to port new civs and balance changes to Voobly, but they haven't done that yet because they don't want to step on MS's foot. The new civs and balance, once ported, still require players to actually own DE.
I believe what he meant was that:
- MS made a reasonable effort to hire people from community.
- That people still cheat successfully even if they run their own copy of the game.
- That networking in DE works better than in Voobly, not the other way around.
Hi, I get an impression that Forgotten Empires is mimicking the match-making system from other esports (SC2, DotA2, CS:GO come to my mind). But in my opinion, at the moment AoE2:DE should take into account the fact that AoE2 has small amount of players for their system to be effective. So, can...
I don't like that idea. I prefer an easier way to rematch my opponent.
I also understand that it might effect ELO system (because people can abuse it), but IMO that issue is not that big and it is comparable to the way Voobly is now.
I don’t like to find new players every game. Why does’t the game has an option to play again with the player I have just played with? I think it is ok if me (or that guy) wants to play several games with each others.
That option is also better for casters to find games to cast imo.
What do you mean? I personally very fond of that kind of match-making system where I don't know who I will play with. And by the look of things people seem to be able to play with team mates pretty easily.
