It doesn't make it easier for low elo. It is a defacto tiny nerf, because you collect 25 seconds of vil time less ressources (so about 10 res), but it nerfs them for maps where you immediately collect a lot of food, like when starting with a fishing ship or similar.
I think the word you were looking for is "buff".
In general what i see going on here is kind of the same that happened in league of legends for the past decade or so. New civs get more and more bonuses, with longer lines of text explaining how everything works and each individual bonus...
Let me phrase it like this:
If you consider every human alive, eligible for competition in your specific activity, no matter the age, no matter if they've even ever heard of the thing or shown any interest in it, why stop there? Why not claim superiority over all other live forms on planet earth?
Nah, the last wrang of fire was absolutely amazing. loved the settings, loved many of the sets and you got a decent amount of high level players that took it exactly the right amount of serious. Just not exactly the AoE Zone crowd.
The best in the world is a statement I wouldn't debate. The best out of 8 billion is a ridiculous statement though.
46000 is the number of accounts on the ladder according to aoe2.net. Sure you might count a few thousand more or less, but that doesnt change anything about the 8 billion statement.
Thank you for the clarification. I was rooting for you guys that game, as i usually do for vietnam games and was very disappointed reading about those issues later. I understand it was songsong as an individual and not the whole team, but I would suggest to you guys that you should hold people...
Indeed this was not sarcasm at all. I dont usually pick civs, but i do still get frustrated with some of the random choices (such as goths and celts) getting forced on me ocassionally.
I also definitely took got a lot of fun from trying to make civ bonuses work best, trying out novel build...
i dont understand why this is even a discussion. There are so many ways the Civ influences your play at any level and so many reasons over 40 civs get overwhelming for someone.
Lets say you are at about 1300 elo game 1: You get Ethiopians. You go [email protected] archers, mass archers, defend in castle age...
Its gotten a bit better with the renaming of the Indian civ, but there just are a few maps, where a few civs have such strong advantages any other civ is at a heavy disadvantage. Picking these Civs on those maps basically destroys any fun for anyone else playing.
I agree with that Statement. Organization was great, but bashing his own tournament and voicing his disapointment with the finalists sitting next to him right after the conclusion of the tournament was an unfortunate move that I would expect to make sponsors worry.
Couple that with a whole VOD...
In that case it might be best practice to just say "a player" instead of naming the player.
If you are aware that it might come off as a blame, but you arent trusting your sources, best to do it anonymously.
noone talks about entitlement, but top heavy prices are simply not growing the community, as it is not worth it for anyone that isnt already in the top 16 right now, to commit more time and effort into the fse.
