Well I think the problem is you think there's a big issue to solve; but like most things in AOE2, the devils in the detail, and things don't need a massive change. I think a small delay will help to stem the initial spam by a minute or so, but keep the potency of the unit.- Uselessaurus Rex

Eagles cost and balance is fine. I think the annoying thing about them in the early castle age spam, so maybe increase food cost by 15 and make supplies apply to them. That way the balance remains the same, but with less early spam.- Uselessaurus Rex

Sure. The main units that are seen in castle age are knights, xbows, seige and monks. The only one you can mass from feudal onwards is archers/xbows. By upgrading from archers to xbows you get a huge amount of useful army very quickly. Civs with xbows and a strong eco bonus can get that power...- Uselessaurus Rex

@MAE_ME Two of the most important things in this game, on many, many maps, are Eco Bonus and X-Bow. Bulgarians have neither, and so are tough to play.
