The viewership numbers speak for themselves. Memb is the most watched caster in the game. While I like Dave and T90 a lot, I prefer Memb's casting if I had to choose. Memb is more serious and more focused on the actual gameplay.
For 3vs3 you could make some good and even teams if you allow some countries to combine. $200,000 TG NationsCup LAN-tournament (sorted by potential seed, seed 1-6 are directly qualified, seed 7-14 plays qualifiers for 4 spots):
(Don't know why I wrote all this but had time on my hands I guess...
I didn't mean that talent necessarily is some sort of mental ability hiding in the unconscious mind. My point was simply that most people aren't aware of all the bits and pieces that make them good (or bad) at something. I believe a lot of it has to do with genetics.
I will give you an example...
People generally don't know why they became great at something, so therefore asking them directly is usually futile. They think it was their hard work/effort, but in truth it is mostly other (unconscious) things. You could say those things are "talent" or "aptitude".
There are many football...
I agree. A lot of people only want to play one map (usually either Arabia, Arena or Black Forest). Let them queue up for only that map. If you want to play quicker, you can queue for all the maps. Sure it will increase waiting times a little bit overall, but at least everyone will be motivated...
And that's part of being a professional player, ability to handle pressure. A lot of tennis, golf or football players are great when playing at home or in practise sessions without pressure or bystanders looking at them. Is it unfair to football players to have an audience at the stadiums during...
It prevents cheating, which is quite prevalent in the game currently. If you play from home there are basically an unlimited ways in you could cheat.
At the Warlords event, some players where speaking in microphones during their games. Who were they talking to? Were they fed information...
Just curious, why do people hate on Hera more than other players? I've always liked Hera, active guy who makes helpful videos on youtube and helps to grow the player base. Probably third or fourth most influential character in the community after T90 and TheViper (and possibly SotL).
Yeah I think just increasing the "autoscouted" part at the start would be best. Maybe an additional 2-3 tiles or so. Just enough to see the edge of your nearest woodline(s) on Arabia (and your whole walled section on Arena).
But you are abusing the system just as much as Arena-players by picking Arabia. They beat you on "their" map while you beat them on "your" map. Why are you more righteous than them? Who ever decided that only Arabia counts?

Definitely the best tournament in quite some time. I actually enjoyed this more than the latest Red Bull. The variety of maps was great to see. Series never became boring.
Hope we get 9-vill start in the ranked ladder as well. It should replace the standard 3-vill start. I would play more Aoe...
On the other hand, without Aoe4 I don't think we would've gotten such good production (prize pool, a live audience etc). Both games benefit from each other.
Was Tatitoth's performance the greatest performance of all time in Empire Wars? It's hard to compare obviously. Do you think he would've beaten last year's Viper? I think so personally.
Anyway, the GL boys are the most fun to watch, by far. True masters of the game (due to their...
I think he read the thread here and/or on Reddit and realized that it was his mentality setting him back (not seeing himself as a winner, or someone who had what it took to be the best). Those threads were probably wake up calls for him and he decided change his outlook.
Being teammate with...
