If not showing up for an interview nets you a $300 fine I wonder what not showing up to a qualifying match in the inaugural season of AoE's only league will get you. Disqualified from next season, hopefully.
Yeah exactly, the only other tournament that I'm aware of with a similar format was Rise of the Elephants and that ended with a very strange tie between Suomi (4-0, 13-7) and aM (3-1, 13-7). I'm sure if you asked anyone on aM they'd say that Suomi won. Strange to see it implemented here as well...
Wouldn't that have significantly lessened the drama? A main concern, and probably the source of most of the hate (or valid criticism, take your pick of words), back then was aoe2 being pushed aside for aoe4. We now know that's not really the case, but that could have been cleared up almost...
Do you really believe this or are you just stirring the pot? If the top 16 players quit tomorrow and said they're not playing RBW do you really think fans would tune in? Would Sebastian2002 vs. Ubetnir really draw the same audience as Mbl vs. Jordan? I wouldn't care about that at all and I...
From the handbook: "All players are expected to schedule their matches during the prescribed timeframes to the best of their ability". It also allows for exceptions, but saying they're not limited to a certain week is incorrect. As for Gold League it's probably good to give those players more...
The idea behind this is league is good but it's really suffering from scheduling issues at the moment. Being flexible with players is fine but it reaches a point where it starts to feel kind of absurd. If Liquipedia is correct Daut and Viper are scheduled to play their round 5 match tomorrow...
Just wondering why there are so many unscheduled matches? Three from week 1 haven't been played and now it seems three from week 2 won't be played in time. And three players haven't even played a single match yet...at this rate Daut will be playing his week 2 match during the first round of the...
That's really interesting and confirms that the game is just not super competitive. I mean seriously a caster, a full time farmer, a bunch of retired sc2 pros (I mean like, wayyyyy retired) all in the top 10. Nothing but respect for ML though, he's still sick at starcraft but took a calculated...
Did anyone cover Slam vs. Liereyy today? Maybe I'm old fashioned but I still like when matches are posted on the aoezone calendar so you can see who plans to cast the games. I'd rather not have to scroll through X number of vods to find a match...
So you think it's fine that a top 12-15 player in the world from group D will be relegated to the semipro league while several barely top 20 players will continue in platinum? Do you really think these are the absolute best settings we can come up with?
Hold multiple qualifiers. RMS cup is doing just that. Or make them double elim like Starcraft mostly does.
@paradox303 @_Donatello_ Am I to understand that you think Major League Baseball, founded in 1876, is not a league just because it doesn't have a dumb relegation system?
