Except the production is excellent like other S-tier tournaments, I'd like to share my 2cents for improvements:
- I hope there are mods that can make players in TG more distinguished. That might attract some new viewers for cleaner visual. (Like different Blue colors vs different Red colors?)...
Epic final! Congrats to all.
As the esport scene is getting more competitive, the production is getting better, prize pool is higher as well. Players need to get everything prepared mentally & physically.
It is quite obvious GL's level dropped significantly in the last few games, more mistakes...
IDK I once played against HRE with Meinwerk and Burgrave i felt like playing a zombie game...
My crossbow kept shooting down M@A...spears... but they just kept coming non stop.
As I play and watch both game extensively I think its safe to say why AOE4 is less popular becoz lack of micro there.
What I like aoe4 is you can choose different landmarks so you have different options and strategy for the game, that adds a lot of diversification even for mirror matches - but...
I really hope Yo can make it but I'm not too optimistic as the authority has not been reasonable recently, they restrict all the visa issuing and generally do not allow their people to leave the country.
Its ok that you don't have the motivation... Like when he switched from aoe2 to aoe4, he created drama.
I mean he is young but his behavior is like a high school kid or even worse.
Always do unnecessary trash-talk. He has already announced he would not stream aoe4, then he joined the aoe4...
No offense, EGC is just coming from nowhere and I don't know why they can get so much funding?
Honestly all the production of their tournaments seem pretty bad to me, low resolutions, game delayed sometimes, pretty ugly graphic, no overlay, sometimes couldn't hear the voice from casters.
I haven't watched his steam for 1 sec since he moved to FB and I don't even know what he's been up to but I guess you can blame AOE4 for the delay - I can't see the logic though.
As far as I know AOE2, AOC, AOE HD, AOE DE are all using the Genie Engine and the game mechanism hasn't been changed...
The funniest part is people are so concerned about the funding... I guess this is the least MS concerned about - they spent hundred billions to buy a game company. And you people whining MS spent 100k to sponsor a new game tournament and complaint MS should spent on AOE2 tournaments instead...
Lets assume AOE2 get less money in competitive scene but I don't see the player base is affected by that, pretty sure the big ones like hidden cup and KOTD will go on. The bottom line is it doesn't prevent you to play the game you like. Also AOE2 is 20 years old game you don't expect they will...
The production of N4C is really top-notch. NAC3 is also the best AOE2 tournament I ever watched besides Wololo5.
I definitely feel that AOE2 is still more exciting because the small stuff can punish so hard to the players and one good micro can change the game. AOE4 to me is too predictable.
