While I don't play them that much anymore, I think that both AOM and AOE1 are way too underrated, especially if we consider how much AOE4 is overrated. It's a bit more complicated than that. For the very top players (like Viper and Liereyy), yes, this is correct. They'll earn less than they would if it was a 1 vs 1 tournament.
