That's exactly what's going to happen with EW ladder when all of the 3K+ TG players try itThe DM ladder is an absolute joke, just consider that the #1 changed from yesterday to today because some guy played 10 game with 7 wins and 3 losses lol...

DM hasn't been given a chance to attract players. No Microsoft sponsored DM tournaments since DE's release, no front page promotions for DM tournaments that RM tournaments like HC4 got, and of the 3 biggest English speaking Age related channels (T90, Viper, Hera) only one of them plays or streams DM. T90 has a total of 3 DM videos on his YouTube page.DM has failed to attract enough players, we should definitely give alternative game modes a chance.
yeah it *could* happen but in practice never happens.. just check the RM 1v1 top 100 and see how many games the top 100 players have (smurf accounts excluded of course). meanwhile in DM there are dozens of players with very few games. but i agree the whole mm elo is broken, and we just need a ladder reset to make the EW ladder work...if the devs are not completely clueless they will in fact do exactly this. This can happen anytime in RM 1v1 too, the second nC | Jaysquared (3241 TG right now) decides to play some 1v1 and dab on hera with the first 3k rating in 1v1.

And yet there's still more DM games played every day, whether in lobby or in ranked, than there ever has been EW games played in lobby or in quick play.
Haven't all the DMWCs been sponsored by MS. As far as major streamers not featuring DM goes, what they do or don't stream is their choice and there's not much we can do about it. While I don't agree with removing the DM ladder entirely, I do think that it being 'equal' to RM in the sense that it has its own ladder is a bit weird.DM hasn't been given a chance to attract players. Ah, my bad. That sucks. Well if they haven't invested in DM at all it makes sense that they would have no issue getting rid of it. I have never been a DM fan but it's obviously disappointing for you all. Hopefully they either add a rotating secondary queue or ranked lobbies for DM soon.no they arent,
we have a player called Quendi True, who goes around asking players to donate(literally begs you to donate and if you dont he'll ban you from the tournament lol) that actually want to play in the tournament, kind of leaves a sour taste when you want to win some money... anyway i think its the past now and i dont think they will reverse their decision, Microsoft have literally gotten no benefit from DM, The player base, is so so small compared to RM that they would probably be just fine playing in lobbies, thats where 90% of the DM games are played anyway.
It does make sense if you have the right point of view: the devs are too scared to screw up the already crappy multiplayer system (which is getting more buggy/laggy every update) by adding a third ladder. So there is only one spot: EW or DM. The MM is too small for both it seems. We cannot be angry at the devs (I assume they are doing their best, which is simply not good enough for most people here).i have not played a single DM game my entire life but, bro why? why do we need to remove DM rank??? it doesnt make any sense
DM has been a ranked mode in this game for an extremely long time (not sure when it was added to Voobly, but it was 5+ years ago for sure), it's a staple of the game.Tbh to have DM on matchmaking was a mistake in the first place, the playerbase is waaay to small
There has not ever been matchmaking on voobly. only ranked lobbies just like many other modes like roll the dice.DM has been a ranked mode in this game for an extremely long time (not sure when it was added to Voobly, but it was 5+ years ago for sure), it's a staple of the game.
just as plausible imoOr there might have been an increase in games played since march due to DMWC4 and would look odd if there is a spike in the graph as they decided to bin DM
just to let you know, you actually dont have a single clue how the DM ladder works because its actually tied in with the RM ladder as well. It feeds off the elo of RM tgs and 1v1s, LOOOOOOOOOOOLTbh to have DM on matchmaking was a mistake in the first place, the playerbase is waaay to small.. and so we cannot justify treating RM and DM as equals. Maybe put the alternative game modes DM EW KOTH CS etc in one ladder, or allow ranked lobby games for these game modes.

and
is just another proof that the DM ladder as it stand is an utter disgrace. We can't have a ladder just for 100 people.
DM has failed to attract enough players, we should definitely give alternative game modes a chance.
o rly? cpt obvious. my point was that the ridiculous effects are primarily seen on the DM ladder since there are so few players. Either way, DM is gone for now, which is good have fun in the lobbies boys!just to let you know, you actually dont have a single clue how the DM ladder works because its actually tied in with the RM ladder as well. RM ladder is the same it can feed off DM elo
Might confuse you, but that doesn't mean that there won't be in the future. There has not ever been matchmaking on voobly.
they were asked to fix this for more than a year now (it affects RM too)this is not the issue of the small DM player pool and instead a terrible matchmaking issue. Whenever the better player gains +0 points for a win while the loser gets -0, these players should have never been matched in the first place. Of course, a small player pool prolongs queuing times, but there is no point in playing a game where one player is statistically implied to win 100% of the time and in practice this is just a waste of time.
only being able to effectively join 1 lobby at a time is a huge differenceNow, I haven’t actually talked about the difference between the automated ranked matchmaking and the manual matchmaking within lobbies. This is because there is no fundamental difference between the two. The undertaking by which the matchups are decided are in both cases dependent on a similar kind of process, one time through the players trying to figure it out by themselves and one time through the matchmaking algorithm.
It's like they are actually intending to troll the community or something. If they're truly concerned about the "multiplayer experience", there are at least a dozen glaring issues with their matchmaking and UI that they could attempt to address. Instead, they invent a scenario where a noob accidentally stumbles into the wrong game-mode and just delete an entire ladder for the lulz.
They literally say: There are lot of player ideas how to fix the problems with the queue, but we still prefer removing it. Paraphrased tho so not that literally maybe.I'm not a fan of DM for a variety of reasons, but this is just clownish behavior from the developers.
If it's a playerbase issue, DM just held a major tournament to attract new players.

And there have been noobs stumpling into DM on their first game and ended up pretty clueless, but those are seldom cause DM is so less populated and they blamed the bad UI not the DM ranked to exist. And EW ranked will have the same issue if the UI stays the same. Ew can be as overwhelming if you are thrown into it expecting a normal dark age game... it makes little sense
well if thats the case i dont have anything to say but i feel for DM players and wish they can bring it back somehowIt does make sense if you have the right point of view: the devs are too scared to screw up the already crappy multiplayer system (which is getting more buggy/laggy every update) by adding a third ladder.
