F1Re and GoKu announced their entry to the KGB Team last Saturday, March 20th. The announcement was confirmed in GoKu' stream during the casting of Hidden Cup 4. The last tags and clans that the players represented were Team Savages, BrazuKas and Lord of Skulls - F1Re was still in TyRanT from 2014 to 2018.
The KGB Team has existed since 1998 and is one of the oldest teams of Age of Empires 1 and Age of Empires 2 in Brazil. Focused on the growth of the Brazilian community around the games, the KGB launched a website, blog, forums and Discord server and intends to promote championships and showmatches for all elo levels and represent the country in high level tournaments with a strong team of players.
"I remember that, when I started playing, the clan already dominated the national and even international scene with names like Logan, Alive, etc.", said F1Re about his memories of the team. "I have always been a fan of the tag, what they represented in the past and after I met the members I became a lot more fan. When I started to play, my relationship with the clan was just admiration, as I had no contact with anyone, but I watched and admired the team representing the nation, very well by the way, being top 1 in Brazil for a long time", commented GoKu on the KGB.
In addition to F1Re and Goku, the front line of the KGB Team has Alive, one of the legendary players of Age of Empires 2 and who has been playing the Definitive Edition since last year and is close to the top 100 in the ladder - in the Brazilian ladder he is already in the top 10.
About the motivation and how it got there, F1Re replied: "I see the potential to converge the entire Brazilian AoE community in one place. They talked to GoKu and automatically invited me haha". Regarding the plans for the future, the player said: "In my opinion, we would need 1 or 2 more high-level players to compete at a high level in future team championships, but for now I believe that the will of the staff would be to aggregate everyone in one place and expand the visibility of the game among Brazilians". About his entry and the KGB's intentions with him, F1Re concluded: "I believe they are looking for someone to help them in this endeavor and to add visibility to the team".
GoKu, on the other hand, talked about why he joined the team and how the process went: "I have some mutual friends who play TG with the guys, brother leo, gabi, I already knew Alive and then we created a bond of friendship by playing some TG and chatting. After a few days I was invited to join the KGB family". Asked about the KGB Team's plans, GoKu replied: “The plans are gradually being built. There are many projects to be put into practice and the future is to make the KGB as one of the largest clans in the world of Age of Empires 2. The KGB is a sum of professional players and a family behind the competition, with my entry, it will take the KGB's name for worldwide recognition again. I am learning a lot with the KGB family and I hope to help them in some way, as I will do my best!"
The next commitment of the players will be in the classification of the Two Pools Tournament 2, a 2x2 championship organized by @LidaKor, with @F1Re__ and @GoKuZiTo playing together, and @Alive playing with @FeAge.
