If viewer count were an indication of how long a game can survive, Aoe2 should be a ghost. I prefer Aoe2 but this mentality is seriously not helping anyone.
Honestly I completely agree. I wasn't a huge fan of Aoe4 and I still don't think the dev team is doing things fast enough but this tournament has been excellent so far.
If Lierrey went skirms, he wouldn't have anywhere close to the imp time he had in game. He also didn't have the eco setup for skirms. Also Skirms against Indian Hussars just doesn't sound good at all.
As far as the graphics go, I couldn't care less. DE's graphics were also criticized when it came out and that issue is long forgotten. For me, the game is readable and units and buildings are distinguishable.
Strategy wise I think the game is in a good place. The civs are all unique, some are...
