great tournament

Loser mentality to think the winner of this tournament will be decided by random map generation and not by skill and preparation. Want to win the big prize pool? Be the best player.

I was a bit skeptical of the maps at first but it ended up being a really great and interesting tournament. Absolute masterclass performance by Mr. Yo in the playoffs, crazy he came so close to being knocked out in the swiss stage.

Have other tournament formats been tried in aoe? Something like a modified Swiss group stage into a single elim quarters.

Holy crap... I'm just a casual viewer of aoe2 and stumbled upon this thread through reddit... I'm from new orleans and am familiar with that motorsports park lol. I cannot believe that a fellow aoe2 lover in this tiny, international community lives so close. You sound like a great guy my friend...
