I suppose the business background of EGCTV helps. Unlike aoe2 folks who are mostly streamers-turned organisers, he actually seems to be a successful PR/business guy on his own. At least he can afford spending 10k on aoe3 and even more on aoe4 out of his pocket
Mbl has a full time Norwegian day job that is probably far more sustainable, profitable and healthy than playing+streaming aoe2. Though he can never be underestimated, unlike Liereyy he really needs a lot of grinding to be in shape. As much as he’s my favourite aoe2 player-streamer I don’t think...
In DE era TG price pool was never bigger than 1v1 even before nili took the job. I think tournament organisers/marketing people are not willing to spend 3 times the money to get the same amount of viewership, regardless if they are nili or not.
Yes or no. Most ranked players I know (including myself) play 2-5 champs for each role and there are 5 different roles. But quite a lot of us enjoy playing multiple roles/have deeper champion pool for the role we specialise for different match up/team composition.
I’m sure if Hera were playing aoe2 full time, no one would bother to post his casual league record here. I agree despite being mostly factual the post still reads like mockery that Hera doesn’t deserve.
Be it lack of sensitivity or actually malicious, either way is pretty toxic.
Plus, what...
“Brits can be dealt with skirms”, “Brits can be dealt with knights”, “Brits is only strong when they get to the comp”. I’m surprised someone still bother to respond to these bad jokes lmao
Back when I was a kid, most of Warcraft 3 players are playing custom maps and having gigantic blast. You don’t even have to know how to play the base game. The system is simply so much more flexible and creative than aoe series for modding. Sure aoe modding do matter a lot for gameplay...
To me it’s not hard to understand. Trackmania face the similar problem (but even worse) of lacking sponsorship despite good viewership. These “classic” games have fanatical player base, but are hard to appeal to anyone who haven’t been in the franchise before.
Whereas despite the faults AoE4...
Dude we were talking about aoe3 not even aoe4 lmao
How easily triggered are you
After TAD and DE aoe3 is by far more playable and finished than aoe4. Comps are actually quite fun to watch. Not comparable at all at present state.
As a person following the competitive scene of aoe3 it hurts to see, especially how close minded people here are. Glad that here is no longer the center of aoe2 universe
