1. Maps should be submitted on the Terra Nova Duos Discord server, #contest-submissions channel, with a short description and a screenshot of the full map and the mini map.
2. Submissions must consist of your own work. They have to work in a 2v2 setup.
3. Scripters may submit only one map per region (Africa, Americas, Asia, Europe, Oceania*), meaning a maximum of 5 map submissions per participant.
* (includes Australia, New Zealand, islands in the Pacific, and no sharp border to Sout East Asia)
4. The jury members will individually evaluate each submission, and no point system will be used. Instead, the evaluation will be based on several factors (such as competitiveness, uniqueness, visual appeal, etc) that each judge will use to give a map an overall rating.
- Originality. You may use pre-existing maps of your authorship, but new (not before seen) work for the tournament may have higher chances of getting a better evaluation.
- Uniqueness. We’re aiming to include a wide range of map types, representing different regions of the world. We would prefer maps that represent regions or locations that aren't already present in the map pool, as well as map types that are different than what we currently have available. So please check the maps in the "Terra Nova Duos Map Pack" mod in the in-game mod center (Map guide here will also follow soon).
- Visuals. A visually appealing map may have higher chances of getting a high rating if done right. Good use of terrain types for visual effect, as well as embellishments in general will be well accepted, as long as it doesn't get in the way. However, this is something that can still be adjusted after the submission deadline, if we agree that the map concept is the best in its category.
- XS scripting: While we value creativity, we require participants to not use xs scripting.
5. Maps may be updated any number of times before the deadline, with the most up-to-date version being used for evaluation.
6. Five maps will be picked by the jury, with each winner being awarded $60.
7. We reserve the right to make changes to the winning maps if needed.
The submission deadline is April 10, 23:59 GMT. Thereafter we will evaluate all submissions, discuss among the jury, potentially as well as with the contestants, aiming to make the versions to be used from the group stage on available on April 17.
Jury: Huehuecoyotl22, Lord Patito, Nova, TheMadCADer, YoungPanda (potentially another member to be added).
