Ive seen plenty of "top" players who cant lame. Not even half of the top 40 players can do it ok.
Just gotta say that I don't think it should be removed from serious tournaments, I just think that the risk vs reward right now isn't balanced well. It's too easy to execute and too luck based. Now there could be adjustments made to these things where the risk vs reward is increased, in which case it could be a perfectly viable part of our game.As Viper said, most good players are in agreement that laming is too luck based and should be removed from serious tournaments.

Well okay I did not realise that that was the case, that is indeed broken then. You mean where he amazingly outskilled me at laming with the skillful host advantage?
Host advantage is fixed now I think! Back then it was definitely broken though, yes.Well okay I did not realise that that was the case, that is indeed broken then.
For all the people who say laming is hard to do, here's a clip of dave laming a boar while playing with a controller
I think that if the boar wont follow any lurer any further than say 40 tiles from the spawn position, then the boar can be lured under the tc of the "owner" still, but the lamer needs to send forward vills to take the boar in the middle of nowhere if they wanna have the extra food. Means, they have idle time and are exposed => some risk added without totally destroying the mechanic. From my point of view both actions of the players were up to them. Stealing/killing a boar was not forbidden and resigning at any time or not wanting to play, because you lost the fun in playing is your choice, with advantages and disadvantages for which the players can take the responsibility.
It is a bit sad for the viewers though, who expected an exciting final.
The map Plains has 8 deer and 12 water buffalos per player. So even after losing one boar, there is plenty of food.
So I understand TaToH being annoyed, but he could still have tried to give the viewers a good game.
@TheViper Any idea on a rule to increase the risk? The boar attack has already been increased vs. scouts, but a walled-in, loomed villager doesn't have any risk, even if all boars were in the back of the base.
Would it be an idea (don't know how possible it is) to make scouts have to hit the boar more times than villagers to aggro, such that the scout is always 1/2 hits away from death? this would make it quite a little more risky I think.Just gotta say that I don't think it should be removed from serious tournaments, I just think that the risk vs reward right now isn't balanced well. Not to brag but once i rekt bmyers with fwd castle on all his golds and he suffered a slow death to teutonic kts flank vs flank on ara tgSome people seem to think that getting lamed is a death sentence, but I must remind you of a game where BMyers with 0 boars as Mongols easily defeated Edie with 4 boars as Mayans. Don't give up so easily and sometimes you might just embarrass your opponents instead.

I remember bmyers deleting his eagle with Mayans at the beginning of a BF game (hence all explored) so that he could make a vill.
Not sure if it’s a genius move or incredibly stupid.
He ruined his own eco while laming.
Hmm...you start with 2 boars. If enemy steals he has 3 you have 1.
Am I missing something?
