Usually not, sometimes I go yolo full feudal or some stuff, but not any proper forward. Also almost always lose with full feudal, unless guy fails and leaves some hole or lose all his army hardly killing anything and it snowballs, but usually I just end up attacking walls and then dieing cuz of 3min later castle age and dude just buildings houses or markets to block me meanwhile. But I have thought about trying to learn some forward quite a bit after having boring games, though I don't really play lately, have like 30 games or something last 3 months, one reason partly is cuz many of the games are just boring. I seriously don't understand how people have fun playing drush into full walls into FC. I'm glad it usually doesn't work, but holy... Why not to play arena then. Are you forwarding?
Luckily Arabia is more death. Only playing Arabia became really boring. Nowadays much more maps are been played. That is a good thing for the game.
Ah, yes. Such a horrible thing to have a consistent and fair start for all players. To think to give them one sheep already scouted - how dare they??Arabia has also become hamster friendly. Closer boars, one free sheep, hills around your base because apparently that makes sense.
"Arabia is less random than it used to be"
Ok, then use a different version of Arabia to make it more random. Every tournament uses custom maps these days. Another non-argument.
Its not like their podcast is some official channel stating truths nor did Viper or GL convince Memb not to host KOTD6 xDAlso I have to say, GL's outsized influence on the pro scene in general is getting worrisome in my mind.

Well then following your statement I prolly won't exaggerate that THATS the main issue of the game. If the most dynamic map is boring, what does that mean? All the walling is annoying and boring, though most maps have like 2 valuable strats. Also ofc everyone have their own opinion, but putting water into maps like regicide fortress is just annoying, overall mixing in more maps perhaps is good, but it was wayy too forced into making 90% of the maps hybrid, which most of them plays out very similar anyway.Auto-Everything.
People have spoken. Same, muted/automatic **** woodlines/autohillaroundbase egresif-boring-old Arabia isn't entertaining.
I thought Hearttt said there was one variation of arabia that devs 'got right' in his words. Was two versions before current one? No idea what that one was like, wish I saw it personally.
Arabia was more random in the past with numerous hills among other things. In DE, there's I'd almost say far less hills/huge hills than there were in aoc's default version. Both have their problems really. Players have also had so many years to figure out ara since it is the most common map that there's no more mystery really.
Somehow when I saw an alert, I just knew it was from you. Had this little tickle in my soul I couldn't shake off. What do you mean? In arabia there is guaranteed elevation in a ring in front of your base now.
Balance has changed substantially over time. Not sure what you mean by "Arabia has been figured out," since it changes with the power creep over time. Shoot, any time you have someone come up with an alt strategy on Arabia it gets nerfed into oblivion, so I don't think "figured out," is really true, and the generations themselves are modified with the shitification of pathing each time devs touch it that fundamentally changes how you can play it.
If you ever played around in the scenario editor, the maximum elevation it lets you place is level 7. AoC Arabia generates hills at elevation 8.I'll put it in the cute way. 2/10 times or so, you'd spawn in a crater where a meteor landed, like one that ended the dinosaurs.
The core of ara and how it's played hasn't really changed and I don't see how it ever will.
Myth, you're gonna make me exhausted rather quickly if all you're going to do is take one sentence and assume I watched just one Hera game to say that. I've seen many things since 2005/2006. Nothing really has changed deeply as far as ara is concerned. A lot of it is the equivalent of old wine in a new bottle. I've seen 25 pop going down to 24, then 23, then 22 pop etc. No loom, skirms/spears with diff pops, full feudal, so on. Seen drushing when it first started in hun wars, maa, drush fc, split formation, box formation, I can write a massive list of what I remember and even who did what. You haven't been watching much if you think this way. French Drush/variations, 16/17 pop up's for archers, growing Skirmisher prevalence, huge defensive building cost/time nerfs nearly always favor aggression, broken pathing for vils/units alike, archers being completely useless to "okay," again, and other facets coupled with power creep (think Viet, Inca's.) There has been pretty substantial change over the past couple of years let alone with the en-crapification of the map itself.
I guess if you just watch someone like Hera and watch him go scouts into LC nearly every game you could get that impression.
